STEVE VEIKLEY

Trumpeter, Steve Veikley received his BA in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley, and his arranging/composition diploma from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

He has been in US Army bands, played and sang with the “Glen Miller Orchestra” led by Buddy Morrow, and worked for “Jack Six” in the Claridge Hotel Orchestra in Atlantic City.

Steve has taught in several private schools and has formed and led his own groups for many years. Steve is currently the arranger and leader of Java Jive Jazz. Some of the individual artists and acts with whom Steve has shared the stage include: Chet Baker, Bobby Hackett, J.R. Mantrose, Warren Covington, Benny Carter, Urbie Green, Peanuts Hucko, Hod O’Brien, Michael Moore, Sammy Davis, Jr. Aretha Franklin, Rosemary Clooney, Martha Rae, Kaye Starr, Helen O’ Connell, Patti Page, Susan Anton, Vic Damone, Robert Goulet, Anthony Newly, Della Reese, The Mills Brothers, bob Eberle, Lester Lanin, Al Martino, Jerry Vale and Enzo Stuarti.
