BOB MILLER

Alto Saxophonist Bob Miller was born and raised in Westfield, New Jersey.

Bob spent two years in the US Army. While serving in Germany he performed in the same Special Service Band as vocalist Tony Bennett.

He holds a degree from Penn State University and studied alto sax with Lee Konitz.

A member of New Youk musician's union Local 802, Miller toured for a number of years with Claude Thornhill, Charlie Barnet, Buddy Morrow, Dan Terry and several other bands. Miller played and did the arrangements for a record date with Barry Miles and Duke Jordan on the Charlie Parker Record label... "Miles of Genius". He has worked with jazz greats; Chet Baker, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Phil Woods, Ron Carter and Eddie Gomez.

Currently Bob is performing with duos and other small groups on the east coast and is heard regularly in two big bands; the Silver Starlite and David Aaron Orchestra. His favorite jazz players are Phil Woods, Eric Kloss and Charlie Parker.
